"Whip It"

When I was in Paris with Sam last spring, I picked up a few things from the flea market on the outskirts of the city. One was this egg beater that just begged to be painted. It (along with the old man portrait "Grand Pere") just got accepted into the Richeson 75 Small Works Competition in April and love being included.
As with the other "toys", I think I am just attracted to painting metal. It's age and rust, and the reflections just intrigue me and push me to really look at what is there. And I like the mixing of warm and cool greys - so luscious on the palette.

(I'll put this on the web site whenI post the Toy show)

What a wonderful little gem. Love your treatment of grey... there are so many colors in grey!
