Sometimes when you paint, it all just seems to come together in the right composition, color, and feel. I bought a bunch of sunflowers to have when I taught a class a week or so back. I wanted to do a demo on "shapes & starts" and this is what resulted. I like the warm shadows - almost "hot" shadows - as though the sun was shining right through the flowers. While I thought of putting some cooler temps there, I left it alone - something that we make a decision on as the process goes. I like that part. The process and where it takes you..sometimes it works. sometimes not, but the risk is always worth it.

...two weeks from tomorrow is set up for the Fine Art in the Park. I can't wait to get all the new work out there and see everyone!
