I finally got out to paint this morning instead of working in the studio getting ready for Piccolo Spoleto this week. Can't believe it's this Friday, but have everything in boxes ready to take down and set up.
Before I went out to hang posters this morning, I stopped at Rosebank Farm to do a little painting. I fell in love with this tree in Rome, "Angel's Trumpets" and have wanted to paint them since. I think this 10x8 shows how much I enjoyed being out painting in the real light, capturing the shadow colors, and the spots of light.
I had put a bit of Veridian on the palette and it made such a lovely dark combined with Cad red and Ultramarine.
