The last three days have been the hardest part for me when painting a large piece. I pretty much know how I want it to look, which makes me want to get "there", but I've been plugging along on the midtones. There's a LOT of paint to put down and after just finishing an article on Sargent, I'm focusing on those midtones, shapes, composition, and thinking through the process to maintain my focus.
Had to sit down to paint the bottom part today - felt I was in the painting. Nice feeling.
