When I start a painting I tend to dive in and not stop for hours, and hours. I've started a baby quilt for Sam and Morgan's baby (due in December) and have become obsessed. The image is the inspiration, and I'm embroidering all of the squares, by hand, and having a wonderful time. It's the same as painting in that you have to think composition, color, balance, and how everything "fits".
I've also been given a studio downtown on Broad for the month of October. It forces me out of the house, away from material, and back into painting. I'm over Spencer Gallery, across from Ella's if anyone wants to come join me someday and go out to paint. Just give a call and let me know.
